Chapter 11: Passing

Some time later I finally came back to consciousness at a gentle wetness somewhere around my mouth.  I wearily opened my eyes to see the red dragoness licking at my lips.  When I opened them to moan tiredly, she easily slipped her tongue into my mouth and awoke me with a kiss that contained as much tenderness as she could manage in both our exhausted states.  When she finished, my eyes were open and able to take in what was around me, but there was absolutely no way I was able to move any more of my body.
A light broke in upon us.  A new scent hinted at my nostrils, making them flare.  While Serpentyne smelled heavily of the pleasant embers of a day-old fire, this new scent was like that of a lush forest.  The red dragoness also took in this new scent and she growled menacingly at it as she laid her body protectively over mine.
I could see the reflected green color off the various shining surfaces that Serpentyne had made of her bed.  My eyes glanced slowly over.  Dryconia had appeared next to us.  Only her upper body was visible, but she still looked down upon us, her expression enigmatic.
Serpentyne growled.  “Do not try to stop us, my sister, or I swear, I’ll…”
“Don’t worry,” Dryconia said, cutting off her sister before she was able to say anything she might regret later.  “I’m not trying to stop you.”
The scents were now warring with each other in my nostrils, the combined smell of being that of a burning forest, which was not at all pleasant.  I wondered how I could now sense these new perfume-like auras, having been near the dragonesses for as long as I had without being able to detect any scent.  I decided it must have had something to do with mating with them.
“Then why have you come here?” the red snarled.
Dryconia kept her face straight, what seemed to be an act of incredible will.  “I came to assure myself that Keirsah did mate with you.  I was the one that encouraged him to, after all.”
Serpentyne looked shocked, turning her head to me.  I nodded.  I could feel the tension in the air.  What if she was angry for not coming of my own free will?  I could feel my breathing becoming more rapid and my muscles tense as my nervousness triggered my fight or flight response.
Then the red’s muzzle split wide in a smile and she roared with laughter.  I sighed in relief and chuckled a bit myself.  The red’s laughter was infectious.  Even the normally stoic Dryconia shook as she chortled as well.  The red rolled herself off me and offered an opening on the bed to her sister.
“Oh no,” the green demurred.  “I’ve intruded upon you two enough.  But if you care to offer me that later, I won’t refuse.”  She winked and disappeared from view.
***
At last the red and I were forced to reluctantly part.  We both needed food and I needed to clean myself up.  Most of my body was crusted over with my own sweat and other fluids that I wasn’t sure I wanted to think about.  After some wandering, I managed to find a bathing area outside of the two personal lairs.  It was smaller and the flow of water from the spring was lesser, but I didn’t expect much for something that the cave’s residents weren’t going to use.  I managed to clean myself off anyway and get dressed just in time to greet the green dragoness at the doorway for her oiling.
Dryconia greeted me with a crushing embrace at the entrance to the cave.  Her eyes shone her approval for me.  That alone was worth more to me than everything that had happened between us since we met.  There was nothing to say while washing her, so I was silent but smiling.  I was much less bashful about handling her body now, as I had already experienced it in the most extreme manner.  In fact, I was enjoying it.  It seemed that our time together had created a bond of sorts between us.  It was like that other voice in me that influenced my actions during the previous night.  At most other times, I would have scoffed at a magical binding merely because of a mating, but much stranger things had happened since I moved in with the two dragons.
When I finished the oiling, I moved in close and kissed her softly upon the tip of the snout.  The dragoness shook with gentle laughter and ran her tongue up the side of my face.  She whispered to me, “I’ll be expecting you to be in the library as soon as you are done with my sister.”  That comment ran completely against the grain of her former comments.  I was still scratching my head after she left.
Serpentyne also greeted me with an overwhelming embrace as well as a long and lasting kiss.  I tried to take it in stride, but I wasn’t entirely successful.  The red still seemed to enjoy embarrassing me with her body.  I mentally shrugged and let her have her satisfaction.
After oiling her I stood up and stretched.  She thanked me with a lusty kiss and sauntered out.  I allowed myself a brief moment of fond memory before summoning my staff and going down to the library.  Dryconia was already down there, pouring over some musty tome as was usual.  When I came in I announced my presence with a flash from my staff.  She perked up at that and gestured me over to her side.
I glanced at her tome.  It was about martial combat.  The current chapter was fighting with a staff.  She easily heaved the book up and dropped it into my arms.  It was heavy.  Incredibly heavy.  My knees buckled and I dropped the enormous text to the floor with a loud thump.  I groaned with pain as I straightened up, rubbing my lower back.
Dryconia was still sitting where she was when I came into the library, looking at me like she was expecting something.  I shot her a plaintive glance and then turned my attention back to the text.  I could easily pull up the cover and turn the pages, but it was impossible to pick up the whole thing.
Dryconia stood and moved behind me.  She placed her claws upon my shoulders and her head close to my ear.  “You know,” she hissed.  “The first spell most apprentices learn is simple levitation.”
I hit my forehead with the heel of my hand.  “Am I unobservant or just plain stupid?” I exclaimed self-mockingly.  With a simple gesture, the book had floated a foot off the floor.
The green dragoness pulled me to my feet and smiled knowingly.  “Tunnel vision is one of the most limiting and dangerous things known to living beings.  Discover how to overcome it.  That’s the next lesson you must learn.”
I nodded, staring at the book hovering just off the ground.  The green’s touch on my arm turned me.  A smile traveled over her muzzle slightly before she stepped into me, the scent of succulent fruit heavy in the air from her body.  Before I could react, her mouth covered mine.  The breath caught in my shocked throat.  There was a loud thump as the hovering book hit the floor again.
She held me for a moment and then separated, walking away with that same gait her sister used to catch and hold my eye.  It made me want to pursue her and it took all my energy not to.  As soon as she was out of sight I sighed and shook my head.  I would never understand the feminine gender.  Or dragons.  Or both.
***
I leaned over the olive green chest of Dryconia, straddling her stomach, washing the last bits of blood out of the crevices in her body.  Her kill today had put up quite a fight and had gotten blood all over her.  She was the easier one of the sisters to discover blood on, for obvious reasons.
One year had passed since I started working as the dragonesses’ servant.  Several changes had taken place, most of which had to do with me.
I had adopted what I called the dragon tail hairstyle.  I tied my hair back on my head and then tied up the loose ends as well.  I meant for it to get my long hair out of the way while I was bent over a task, like the washing I was doing now and it worked very well.  Serpentyne accused me of liking it since it looked so much like a dragon’s tail.  I didn’t argue.
Also, with a great amount of teaching on the part of Dryconia, I had advanced quite significantly in the field of magic.  I could now cast many useful spells by memory and was able to read some of the tougher scrolls in the library.  I was still nowhere near the green’s magical prowess, but was getting there.
Serpentyne and Dryconia stayed more or less the same over that year, with only minor changes.  For one, Dryconia had now opened herself up to me and we were almost completely comfortable with each other, except for on one topic.  That topic was mating.  I was happy to sate her need every month, but something within me demanded more than that of her.  Serpentyne was able to slow that demand with her body, which she offered to me almost every time she saw me, but not completely counteract it.  The green seemed to enjoy playing sexually with me at times, but there was this invisible line that she would not, or could not, cross.
I was quite at home with the red.  Serpentyne seemed to be able to take all the abuse in the world and still come back sassy and opinionated as ever.  I was able to talk freely to her about subjects I was hesitant to discuss with her sister, as Dryconia gave the impression of being very sensitive to certain topics.
I finished scrubbing the last bit of blood out of the green’s hide.  “Well done, Keirsah, as always,” she purred, sliding her arms about my neck and drawing me insistently down for a kiss.  I responded easily to that, letting myself be drawn down to her.  I wasn’t worried about getting my clothing wet, as all I had on was a loincloth that I started using to protect my robes.
She purred loudly into my mouth, but pulled back from me as soon as my arms made the slightest motion to encircle her.  “What?” I asked, hurt and confused.
“Just… don’t,” she murmured and fell silent.
I sighed deeply and finished washing her; then I carried her to the side room.  I made quick work of her oiling, taking no joy in it.  I was too confused, as I seemed to be most of the time around the green dragoness.  After I was finished with the oil, I left for Serpentyne’s lair, deciding at last to speak with the red about her sister’s strange behavior.
I announced my entrance into the lair with a subtle glow from my staff.  The red dragoness was used to me entering her lair at odd times now, which I seemed to be doing a lot lately.  I saw the shift upon the bed part of the horde that showed Serpentyne had been alerted to my entrance.  I could already sense the scent of blazing flame coming from the dragoness.  I climbed up the mountain of gold, every step bringing new intensity to the fiery aroma.  I would not, I could not resist it.  Serpentyne smiled at me as I reached the top and opened her arms to me.  Without even a thought, I fell into her embrace and let the overwhelming aroma cast me into ecstasy.
Some time later, she lay near me, her claw slowly rubbing my bare back.  I smiled and shook my head appreciatively.  “Thank you,” I murmured, “Though this wasn’t the reason I came here.”
“Could have fooled me,” the red purred, grinning at my reproachful glance.  I had learned to accept her sharp wit and was now learning how to cast it back at her.
“Well, the reason is your sister,” I said softly.  “She doesn’t seem to trust me anymore.  Even when I oil her, she pulls away.”
The red dragoness grimaced and shook her head.  “Dryconia has had some bad experiences with males.  Every male she has met except you has been interested only in using her for his own pleasure.  Her first mating with you helped take out some of those prejudices; you must have noticed that she was a lot more suggestive for a few weeks afterwards.”
I nodded.  “If I hadn’t known better, I’d have sworn she was you.”
The red hummed affirmatively.  “However, she can’t shake some of those past experiences.  I believe that she is trying to open herself up to you, even extending a bit of an attraction aura, but she loses her nerve at that point and pushes you away.  That attraction is what has been driving you to me for the past few months.”
I hadn’t noticed that before, but now I realized that I had come seeking the red dragoness too many times to count over the past month, and every time it was after a disappointing encounter with her sister.  “So what do I do to get her to trust me?” I asked.
“I can’t help you there,” the red told me.  “You just have to show her that you understand her and that you will not try to use her at every opportunity you get.”
“That may be tough,” I responded, but a plan was already brewing within my mind.
***
A week later, I was ready to put my plot into action.  I had just finished cleaning and oiling Serpentyne and was getting ready for her sister.  I caught her, as always, and carried her into the room.  As usual, I cleaned her thoroughly and oiled her, but as she left the room to go to her lair, I followed her at a distance.  She didn’t notice me until she was at the entrance to her lair.  When she went in and started climbing her horde to her bed, I went up a different route, a route that brought me within her line of sight.  I saw a fearful look in her face as paranoia warred with trust.
Trust won out, but only barely.  When I climbed up beside her and touched her arm, she twitched so violently that I was sure she would try to kill me.  She calmed down a bit then, but I worked her up again as I stroked over her body with that same hand.  I knew I was beginning to come onto her in the way she didn’t want, but that was the point.
Now came the critical moment.  I nerved myself and pulled my body across hers, straddling her.  Her violet eyes widened and her claws started clenching at the fabric under her.  She was fighting one of her internal wars, her need for me against her fear of a male.  I moved quickly.  I couldn’t let her decide to reject me again.  I softly cast a spell I had been studying, and the green’s entire body seized up.  While she was immobile, I lay down upon her and pulled her to me.  I could easily feel her body through my robe, as attractive as the first time I had seen her.
The spell wore off a second later.  It was very weak, but it had gotten me where I wanted.  I was inside her guard and she could not easily get me away.  I could tell that she was thinking I was going to use her now, and I must admit the temptation was great.  However, I refused to let my body take over this time.  So I did what I was planning to do, the one thing that might get her to trust me.
I did nothing.
That was the key to it all.  I had driven her to the point where my lust would begin to take over.  This time I denied myself and proved to her that I would not take her at every opportunity.  Now I just hoped she understood what I meant.
It seemed she didn’t.  I could feel her panicked breath rushing over me, and out of the corner of my eye, I spotted her claws clenching slowly, almost as if they were preparing to throttle me.  I became nervous, still not daring to move, but preparing to spring off her if she moved to attack.
She did not attack me, but was not relaxed at all until I at last pulled myself off of her.  I leaned back against a wall and watched her neutrally.  She pulled herself to her feet and glared daggers at me.  I held my gaze into her eyes until at last she broke.  “Okay, Keirsah, why did you just do that?”
“To prove to you that I am not all that you may think of me.  You note that I had you helpless to resist me and I did nothing.  I want you to accept me, and you can’t do that while you’re afraid of every move I make.”
She opened her mouth, closed it, opened it again, and then spoke.  “You really feel this way?”
“I do.  You may not be able to believe my words, but you can believe my actions.  You know that I have not done anything more then respond to your advances before you pulled away.”
She seemed to think for a long time.  At last I turned away, but before I could, Dryconia laid her claw upon my elbow.  As I turned, she pulled me into her for a long and deep kiss that betrayed her adoring feeling for me.
***
That cleared the last bone of contention from between the two dragonesses and me.  That kiss started the happiest phase of my life.  For the next year I continued to study magic and washed and oiled the two dragonesses exactly as I always did during the day.  However, at night, I nearly always slept with one of the two dragons in the lair.  We did not always love each other physically, but slept together out of the sheer enjoyment of being so close and sharing our tenderness.
Another six months after that, Serpentyne hung around after I washed and oiled her.  After I finished with her sister, the two escorted me out of their cave.  There, Dryconia changed to complete dragon and placed her sister and myself upon her back.
“Where are we going?” I asked Serpentyne, who was seated in front of me.
“You’ll see,” she answered teasingly.  I shrugged philosophically and then turned my attention back to our ride.  It was only the second time I had ridden dragonback, so I had to put my hands around Serpentyne’s waist to keep myself stable.  She leaned back as I did so, turning her head to one side so she could glance at me with an intriguing look in the eye I could see.  She either blinked or winked, I couldn’t tell which, and turned back to face forward.
After a while, we came to another mountain, unlike the one we had just left.  While the mountain of the dragon sisters was mostly bare stone, this mountain was heavily forested.  Dryconia took us near a small clearing close to the peak.
She landed on a level plane in that clearing.  In fact, the plane /was/ the clearing.  Most of it was a rocky ridge, but near the forest sprouted a bed of green grass, near which Dryconia landed.  Serpentyne vaulted off her back and I climbed down in a more sedate manner before Dryconia shifted back to her more human form.
Serpentyne grabbed my upper arm and pulled me eagerly towards the stony ridge.  I had little choice but to follow her lead.  Dryconia jogged up to join us and she took my other arm.  They led me to the very edge of the ridge.
I gasped as I saw the scene.  I didn’t realize how late it was, but now I remembered that it was just sunset.  The panoramic display will forever remain carved in my memory.  The blazing sun spilling blood-red light over the mountains, mountain shadows lengthening, the ambience slowly getting darker and darker.  I remember sitting down.  Then it was timeless.  I recall vaguely Serpentyne and Dryconia sitting to either side of me and pulling themselves close as they, too, were captivated by the brilliant colors.
As the last gleams of light disappeared over the horizon, Dryconia slowly got to her feet, tailed closely by me because of her claw still on my arm.  Serpentyne came too, still keeping her grip upon my arm.  Dryconia led us to the edge of the grass and there we sat again.  This time we turned around and watched the two moons of our world rise from either side of the mountain.  It was not as beautiful as the sunset, but still very peaceful, watching the two pale discs rising softly from their nests below the horizon.  It was almost hypnotic, I reflected, as I let myself lean backwards upon the ground.
A few minutes later, something happened that put the moons completely out of my mind.  Abruptly, both dragon claws disconnected from my arms and I heard shuffling.  Then, before I could even think, two dark forms converged upon me from opposite sides.  I was almost immediately rendered mostly immobile by two more claws locking my shoulders to the ground.  I could feel two more pulling at my robe, opening it up, untying my belt, and tugging at my loincloth.
I gasped softly as I felt a very cold claw touch just to the side of my arm.  At the same time, two more paws started massaging lower down along my sides and stomach.  As my vision got clearer, I saw the crimson visage of Serpentyne looking down at me, her snout bearing a delighted smile of anticipation.  I saw flashes of movement against the dim green of the grass.  That would be Dryconia, I thought, as her paws rubbed over my body again.  The behavior of the dragonesses seemed to be building towards something big…
I gasped as a sharp kiss of pain slipped across my chest.  I knew it.  Serpentyne had just cut my skin open from arm to arm, just below the collarbone.  It was nothing serious, but I felt the blood dribbling from the slash across my chest.  As I winced slightly from the pain, the red dragoness pulled her claw from me and braced herself more fully across me, one paw to either side.  Then she lowered her head and lapped gingerly at the flowing blood.  I got a glimpse of another shadow against the starry sky.  I saw Dryconia’s head peeking over her sister’s shoulder.  The moonlight gleamed off the twin silver and golden horns of the two dragonesses as Dryconia, too, let her head bob to lap at the redness dripping from my chest.
After a time, a long agonizing time, the constant ticklish sensations of the twin tongues halted.  The warm dribbling of my blood was felt no more; the healing magics having again been worked on me.  I shivered as Serpentyne’s warm body lifted off mine.  I could barely see her and her sister as they knelt beside me.  Then they just waited, one to either side of me, as my overloaded brain tried to figure out why they had not continued.  The twin scents of the two burned in my nostrils and I knew that they were just maddened as I was.  So what was stopping them?
I never discovered the answer to that question as first one, and then another pair of paws touched lightly along my body.  I whimpered slightly and my body tensed involuntarily.  As I glanced up I could see both dragonesses looking down at me, almost completely obscured by darkness except for the glowing violet eyes of Dryconia and the deep blue of her sister’s.
Those irresistible paws now pressed harder into my skin, probing around various parts of my body.  Slowly, one pair encircled around my backside and gently lifted me off the grassy earth.  The other pair of claws worked at my robe, which still hung from my arms.  I obediently allowed that pair to tug my robe from my arms and set it aside while the other pair slipped around my now-bare backside.  I felt my frontside being pressed gently against a soft dragoness chest that I knew all too well.  As I nuzzled my face against that wonderful smoothness, I caught the lush scent of Dryconia’s hide.  So it was she who held me now.
I felt myself being pulled forward; I eagerly responded and fell onto the ground and again into the green dragoness’s loving warmth.  I moaned softly as we sought each other in the darkness and came to an abrupt halt at the overwhelming sensation when she found me.  My brain completely froze up and my entire body simply shivered at the sensations that thoroughly wracked me.  Another feeling invaded my mind, another scaly softness that ever so gently pushed itself onto my backside.  I could sense Serpentyne’s spicy aroma as another pair of claws snaked around me, resting on my stomach and pulling me into the red’s warmth.
I responded by tugging right back, drawing the red forward as I fell into Dryconia’s grip again.  I gently rubbed myself against Dryconia’s body as Serpentyne pressed her flesh eagerly against my backside.  I recalled then why the two were acting like this.  Last month their mating urges had been but a few days apart.  And now they had both come into season at the same time.  Serpentyne’s mischievous spirit must have given her the idea to have them both mate with me at the same time, and Dryconia must have let herself easily get pulled in to her sister’s plot.
Well, all the luckier for me.  I let myself be drawn into the dragonesses’ double grip, obedient to their irresistible needs.  Dryconia’s head limply fell backwards, a long hiss flowing from her mouth, and the feeling she gave me intensified.  I grasped her neck and yanked her snout up to my lips, forcing it onto my mouth.  Dryconia cried out loudly into my throat, and, from the heat that abruptly exploded within both of us, I realized that she had just sated herself.
I wanted to simply lie with the green and enjoy her presence, but the demanding claws that drove into my shoulders reminded me that another dragoness needed me.  I let myself be turned around and swallowed up by the needy red.  As her ardor enveloped me, I felt Dryconia’s two claws curl around me and her still-hot body press onto me like her sister’s had.
In that position, the passion flowing freely through the three of us, Serpentyne, too, sated herself.  As her quiet panting and writhing body drove me into a lovely bliss, I realized that this was everything I could ever want.  I could be satisfied with the love of the two sisters for the rest of my life.
Alas, all good things come to an end.
